Course banners are more than a decorative device. They can be used in a number of ways that support instruction including:
to indicate the current module or learning unit.
to draw attention to some very important development
If they are changed regularly they can be used to indicate the virtual presence of the instructor.
They can break up the monotony of the same appearance of the class site. The class banner area can be the way in which the instructor appears to the class. The banner can include a photo of the instructor or illustration of the matter at hand.
